Ebola cut to the heart of communities across west-Africa. In Sierra Leone and Liberia, governments mandated all schools be closed to help prevent the spread of infection. They remained closed for over six months. These pictures speak to the broader effects on society - beyond the immediate health crisis - by revealing traces of life left behind in spaces swiftly abandoned.
